MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In view of the current law and order situation in the country, Eid holidays of the officers/staff of the departments of essential services have been canceled, it was officially announced.
Revenue, Police, Health, Municipality, Electricity, Public Health, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 provide emergency services in Azad Jammu and Kashmir state.
According to an official press release issued by the District Magistrate Mirpur, the officially announced Eid-ul-Fitr holidays are commencing from March 31 to April 02, 2025. “During the Eid holidays, the concerned officers / staff will remain present on their duties in their respective offices for the uninterrupted provision of these essential services to deal with any eventuality. Immediate action will be taken in case of any emergent situation so that the public could not face any difficulty during Eid ul Fitr festival holidays,” according to an official handout issued by the Mirpur District Magistrate.
All departments will be bound to send their duty rostrum to the District Magistrate’s office, the handout added.
Eid likely on March 31
Eid is likely to be celebrated on March 31 (Monday) across the country. The Central Ruit-e-Hilal Committee and all zonal committees will sit on March 30 for the sighting of moon of Shawaal.
