LAHORE (Kashmir English): In a shocking revelation, DSP Usman Haider has confessed to killing his wife and daughter due to domestic discord.
During the investigation of the kidnapping case registered in Lahore, it was revealed that DSP Usman Haider tried to mislead the police by giving the color of kidnapping to the incident.
According to police sources, the accused himself had registered an FIR for the kidnapping of his wife and daughter at the Barki police station after the murder.
Initial investigation has revealed that Usman Haider had two marriages, and the deceased was his first wife, whom he married for love.
After the second marriage, differences and domestic disputes between the husband and wife intensified, which ultimately led to this tragic incident.
Police say that the accused allegedly opened fire and killed his wife and daughter during a domestic dispute.
After the incident, Usman Haider staged a drama of searching for his wife and daughter to show his innocence, and went to his in-laws several times and accused them of kidnapping.
According to the police, the body of the murdered daughter was recovered from Kahna, while the body of the wife was recovered from Sheikhupura.
The bodies have been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
The scope of the investigation has been further expanded by taking DSP Usman Haider into custody, while the second wife of the accused has also been included in the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the SP and the police say that other aspects of this tragic incident are likely to come to light during further investigation.
