Dr. Abid Hussain appointed as AJK Public Service Commission member

MIRPUR (Kashmir English):  Former Health Department officer Dr. Syed Abid Hussain Shah has been appointed as a member of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Public Service Commission.

AJK Services and General Administration Department issued a notification following the approval from President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry. “The appointment was carried out under Article 48, Sub-Article (2) of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Interim Constitution, 1974, with Section 4(3) of the AJK Public Service Commission Act, 1986.”

Dr. Syed Abid Hussain, who was retired as a BS-20 grade officer, served as the MS Divisional Teaching Hospital Mirpur.

“He has been appointed as a Member of AJ&K Public Service Commission in the category of Retired Govt. officer subject to several terms and conditions of service,” the notification read.

The terms and conditions include, “The term of office of the Member shall be up to 15.01.2027 in terms of Section 4(3) of the Act, ibid.”

“This Notification shall take effect from the date, the Member takes oath of his respective office in terms of Section 4-A of the Act, ibid,” the notification mentioned.
