MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has officially announced Deputy Director of Student Affairs UAJK in the City campus from Mr Adnan Altaf to Mr Junaid Ahmed Mir. The appointment was confirmed through an official notification that was issued on March 10 2025, by the university administration.
According to the notification, Mr Adnan Altaf, a lecturer in the Department of Public Health, has been relieved of his additional responsibilities as Deputy Director of Student Affairs. His reassignment comes as part of an administrative decision approved by the Vice-Chancellor of UAJK.
The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reassigned the role of Deputy Director Student Affairs from Adnan Altaf to Junaid Ahmed Mir at its City Campus on 10th March 2025 to enhance student administration.
In his place, Mr Junaid Ahmed Mir, a lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Deputy Director of Student Affairs. This new role will be in addition to his existing teaching responsibilities. The notification explicitly states that the change is effective immediately.
The Assistant Registrar of Establishment-I has issued the order, which has been circulated to relevant university departments, including the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Registrar’s Office, Dean of Faculties, Finance and Planning Directorate, and the Directorate of Student Affairs. Three additional copies have reached both the Accounts Office and the Public Relations Officer, and the Master File for their official record maintenance.
Sources from the university show that this change supports UAJK’s plan for improving administrative procedures and delivering better student support functions. Student affairs management will gain new direction according to expectations through this appointment that aims to solve student problems and facilitate administrative-student body interactions.
Members of the faculty, along with students, have identified the positive impact Mr Adnan Altaf made as Deputy Director of Student Affairs throughout his previous term of office.
