RAWALPINDI: Director-General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry exposed India’s terror nexus operating in Pakistan amid rising tensions between both countries following the Pahalgam attack in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, the military spokesperson said that India is involved in state-sponsored cross-border terrorism against Pakistan, wherein explosives, IEDs, and other lethal materials are being supplied to terrorists with the intent to target not only security forces but also innocent civilians.
Providing proof of India’s state-sponsored terrorism, the DG ISPR revealed that security forces arrested a Raw-trained and sponsored terrorist from Jhelum bus stand, who was a Pakistani citizen, on April 25.
“Two mobile phones and Rs70,000 were recovered from the site, and after further investigation, an Indian drone along with Rs1 million in cash was recovered from his home.
Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif said that a forensic analysis of the retrieved materials showed “irrefutable” evidence that could be examined by any credible independent agency.
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry revealed evidence showing the involvement of four Indian army officials in the situation: Major Sandeep Verma alias Sameer, the main handler and a commanding officer of the Indian army in occupied Kashmir; Subedar Sukvinder alias Sikander; Havildar Amit alias Adil Aman; and another Indian soldier.
During a media briefing, a recorded audio was played in which terrorist Majeed was being hired by Major Sandeep, and the mode of payment was being discussed.
In one audio, the Indian officer was heard claiming responsibility for conducting stretching terrorism from Balochistan to Lahore, indicating that such activities are being carried out not by the Indian intelligence agency RAW, but by the Indian Army itself.
During the presser, the military’s spokesperson revealed that Major Sandeep detailed how Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are sent via drones, and terrorists are being trained online. He identified Major Sandeep Verma as the mastermind behind the plot, involved in both planning and financing terrorist activities.
“The evidence I’m putting forth before you [shows] how India is carrying out terrorism in Pakistan [through] serving officers and JCOs of the Indian army.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif disclosed that in 2024, Indian Army Subedar Sukhwinder provided a terrorist with a location via WhatsApp, telling him an IED would be placed there. On October 13, an IED was detonated under a military vehicle in Bagh district, leaving three Pakistan Army soldiers critically injured.
Following the attack, PKR 180,000 was transferred into the terrorist’s account, and on November 18, a final payment was made. On November 22, the terrorist received another location near Head Marala, but the drone crashed, and the same drone was later recovered from his residence.
The terrorist was also involved in placing an explosive device on an army vehicle in Jalalpur Jattan, injuring four soldiers.
The DG ISPR reiterated that the Indian government is using its armed forces to carry out these operations, directly targeting Pakistan’s peace and stability.
