MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The corruption scandal of the Development Authority Muzaffarabad (DMA) in the Langarpura housing scheme, situated in Kashmir’s capital, has been exposed.

Kashmir Digital has learned that Satellite Town Langarpura, under the supervision of the Muzaffarabad Development Authority, has reached the verge of destruction.

As per details, the government purchased more than 1400 kanals of land and handed it over to MDA Muzaffarabad, which was supposed to be handed over to the earthquake victims.

It was decided that the land would be given to earthquake-affected affected through transparent balloting, however, the balloting was done over nepotism, and plots were allocated to favored individuals.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir took notice and issued an order to appoint a Grade 20 technical officer as the chairman instead of appointing political figures as the chairman.

According to sources, following the appointment of a Grade 20 officer, the institution failed to restore the merit and end corruption.
