RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rawalakot Sardar Umar Farooq has said that on March 23, 1940, the resolution of Pakistan was approved and a practical decision was made to establish a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
When the resolution of Pakistan was presented in Lahore, a large number of Kashmiris participated and supported it.
“Today is the time of renewal of pledge that we should continue to devote our energies for the stability of Pakistan and the freedom of Kashmir to achieve the destination according to the vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”
Sardar Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Assistant Director Civil Defence, DSP City Rawalkot Sardar Tariq, DSP Traffic Sardar Zafar, Tehsildar Rawalkot Sardar Zaheer Khan, SHO City Rawalkot Sardar Amjad, Deputy Tehsildar Rawalkot and other officers also participated in the ceremony in connection with the Pakistan Day celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the nation has been sacrificing and added that the struggle will continue till the completion of the mission.
Prayers for prosperity of Pakistan
At the end, Mufti Ziaur Rehman offered special prayer for the security and survival of the Kashmir Liberation Movement and the prosperity of Pakistan.
