SUDHANOTI (Kashmir English): The district administration of Sudhanoti sealed the offices and franchises of cellular service provider companies due to poor service and failure to provide complete internet services.

Deputy Commissioner Sudhanoti has directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates and police officers to take action against the companies. The decision was made due to several issues, including poor mobile service.

The order stated that mobile service in the district is extremely poor, and users are unable to avail themselves of the service when needed.

Furthermore, it added that the companies have not established complaint cells, and their offices are not present in the district.

“Users are being charged excessively, with over 35% deductions on cards worth Rs. 100,” the order stated.

The deputy commissioner said that towers are shut down during load shedding, further exacerbating the poor service. “Companies are providing 3G service in the name of 4G, which is considered deceptive,” he said.

Taking action, the DC has ordered the sealing of all franchises, Easypaisa shops, and other outlets selling SIMs of the companies and ordered them to submit a compliance report within one day.

In the second phase, the towers will also be closed until the service is improved and user complaints are addressed, he said. The DC has warned that legal action will be taken in case of violation of the orders.
