RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): An important meeting of representatives of pharmaceutical companies was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sardar Umar Farooq, in which detailed consultations were held regarding dealing with possible emergencies in the district and the Line of Control and timely supply of medicines.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Poonch Dr. Naheem-ul-Zaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Poonch Abdul Qadir, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan and representatives of various pharmaceutical companies.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sardar Umar Farooq said that after the Pahalgam incident, the baseless allegations and threats of aggression by Indian Prime Minister Modi against Pakistan are worrying, however, he said, “Our brave forces are ready to give a befitting reply to any kind of aggression”.
Timely supply of medicines indispensable
He said that in the current situation, protection of the civilian population, immediate medical treatment and timely supply of medicines have become indispensable.
He said that the establishment of emergency centers in different areas of the Line of Control is the need of the hour, where first aid can be provided immediately in any emergency situation.
Representatives of pharmaceutical companies in the meeting assured the provision of medicines, first aid kits, stretchers and other medical necessities.
These items will be handed over to the Public Health Department so that the emergency centers can be activated as early as possible.
District Health Officer Dr. Naheem-ul-Zaman told the meeting that the health department has started the process of establishing emergency centers at different places, where medicines and first aid kits will be available at all times.
The aim of this joint effort of the district administration and the health department is to provide immediate and effective medical assistance to the public in any emergency situation.
