MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Mirpur district administration has warned citizens against buying or selling plots from private housing societies without registration or a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

This warning comes after several housing societies were found engaging in illegal plot sales.

The circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mirpur, on Saturday stated that the administration has already banned housing societies from selling plots without registration and NOC.

Following the ban, several societies are undergoing the registration process, but none have been issued NOCs yet, the circular added.

The document further added that various housing societies, especially City Housing Society, are conducting pre-launch campaigns in various places of the city and on social media.

In this regard, the administration of City Housing Society has given an affidavit that they will not sell any plot until the registration and NOC process of the society is completed.

“Therefore, the government hereby informs the public not to buy or sell plots from any private housing society until the registration process of the concerned housing society is completed,” it stated.

The government emphasizes that any transactions made despite this warning will be considered personal acts, and citizens will be responsible for their decisions.

“The government is issuing this in the public interest so that citizens can avoid any fraud, scam, etc., in the future,” the circular concluded.
