MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Mirpur on Thursday imposed a ban under Section 144 on the smuggling of flour and wheat from Mirpur district to other districts.
In a notification issued by DC Yasir Riaz, the ban aims to prevent the smuggling of government-subsidized flour and wheat outside the district, taking into account the significant price difference between government and private flour.
As per details, the ban has been imposed for two months and may be extended further.
According to the notification, no person/persons or trader will hoard wheat/flour within the limits of Mirpur nor will they take wheat/flour outside Azad Kashmir.
Violators will face action under Section 188 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Penal Code.
