Dadyal shopkeeper arrested for assaulting 14-year-old boy

DADYAL (Kashmir English): Local police in Dadyal have arrested a shopkeeper accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy and recording an explicit video of the act. The case has stirred outrage and concern in the Dadyal community.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Ikram Ghouri, a resident of New Town Oonah and a shopkeeper in the Dadyal Bazaar, lured the teenage boy to his home. The boy, originally from Mohra Kanyal and currently living in Sarsawa Panjera, was allegedly assaulted and blackmailed with a recorded video by the suspect.

Police officials at the Police Station confirmed that the boy had been victimized multiple times. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the suspect under Section 377A(1) of the Azad Penal Code. The case is being personally investigated by Dadyal DSP Syed Ishtiaq Gilani.

Speaking on the matter, DSP Gilani and SHO Rashid Habib assured that the investigation would be carried out impartially and without external pressure. “We will ensure the victim and his family are given full legal support,” said DSP Gilani. “The accused will be brought to justice based on facts and evidence.”

This incident has sparked serious concern among residents, many of whom are calling for strict punishment and increased child protection measures. Community leaders have urged parents to speak openly with their children and report any suspicious behavior.
