Council of Islamic Ideology to hold 108th meeting in Mirpur

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology has scheduled the 108th meeting of the Council for February 18 2025 in Mirpur, where members will review previous decisions, discuss updates on the Education Policy 2023-40, and finalise recommendations on various matters.

The Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology have called for the 108th ordinary meeting of the Council tomorrow, February 18 2025 at 11:00 AM to be held in the Supreme Court Rest House, Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Esteemed members of the Council will be accompanying the meeting along with respective secretaries from the government as well as other relevant authorities.

The major agenda for the upcoming council meeting will be the discussion on how resolutions from the previous meeting of January 21, 2025, have been implemented. The council will talk about any follow-up actions required to monitor the implementation of resolutions approved at that time.

Some issues of the Education Policy 2023-40 would also be updated to the council by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as one of the agenda items. The Council will further be informed on the last constituents of the ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ regarding the policy and shall possibly finalize its recommendations in this regard. Further, different resolutions would be tabled before the Council Secretariat, which will be deliberated to finalize suggestions.

Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice and Chairman Islamic Ideological Council, would preside over the meeting. He would set up the tone of discussion and direct proceedings according to the values and purposes of the council.

The conference is going to play an important role in policy decisions and major recommendations, which will direct future progress in the education sector and governance of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in general. This conference will be important in the promotion of true Islamic development in the region, as well as ensuring that recommendations are needs-based.
