NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): Heavy rain and snowfall are continuously pouring in different areas of Neelum Valley, further intensifying the cold. The continuous snowfall has also led to several road closures, disrupting the overall traffic flow in the area.

The local sources claimed that because of continuous snowfall, the mercury in upper Neelum has gone down below the freezing point, the surrounding mountains have been covered with a thick white blanket, and severe cold conditions are prevailing in the area.

The continuous rains in Lower Neelum have further decreased the mercury level, increasing frost during morning and night hours. Heavy rain, followed by snowfall, disrupted normal life as local people were facing difficulties in their daily routines.

According to authorities, the connecting roads in the upper areas have been partially affected due to snowfall and are causing travel inconveniences. At the same time, efforts have been extended towards monitoring the situation on each road to make traveling as accessible as possible.

The district administration has advised people and tourists to avoid unnecessary traveling, especially towards upper Neelum, and take all precautionary measures in view of the inclement weather.
