KISHTWAR (Kashmir English): A cloudburst has flattened an entire village in Kishtwar district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the flash floods created by the cloudburst have destroyed dozens of houses, tents, and shops in their path.
The affected village has been completely flattened. Hundreds of Hindu pilgrims have also come to the village.
Residents of the area said that they saw their family members floating in the water before their eyes.
Rescue teams, with the help of the army, police, and local volunteers, are removing the debris and searching for the missing.
46 bodies have been recovered so far during the relief work. 200 people are missing, and the search operation is on, while more than 100 are injured.
More than 30 of the injured are said to be in critical condition and have been shifted to nearby hospitals.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of more heavy rains and landslides in the next 48 hours. An alert has been issued in the affected areas.
Weather Conditions in Azad Kashmir
The residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been enjoying heavy rainfall since the morning, whereas the same weather conditions are expected to continue throughout the night.
The Meteorological Department has issued instructions to the citizens to take precautionary measures amid the rising water levels of dams.
On Tuesday night, it rained in different parts of Islamabad, which made the weather pleasant, while light rain and drizzle were recorded in different parts of Karachi.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains in various places of Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected tonight.
During this, there is a possibility of flooding in rivers and canals in some areas, and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
