MIRPUR (Kashmir English): A clerk at the Assistant Commissioner Mirpur Office has been arrested for alleged involvement in a vehicle fraud case.
According to the police, four suspects have been named in the case. Mohsin Rasib has been arrested, while raids are underway to apprehend the other accused.
The FIR, registered on August 25 at the Thothal Police Station in Mirpur, stated that the accused allegedly took possession of a vehicle worth Rs5 million from Khayyam Javed under false pretenses.
The accused, including Arsalan Khalil, Mohsin Rasib, Waqar Ali, and Abdul Rehman, got the vehicle biometrically checked under the pretext and refused to give the money.
The police are conducting raids to arrest the other accused individuals involved in the alleged fraud, the police statement said.
In another development, Mirpur police spokesperson said that SHO Afzalpur Police Station, along with a team, has recovered a car stolen from the limits of its establishment.
The police said that the vehicle was recovered from Punjab province by using a modern investigation method.
