HAVELI (Kashmir English): A devastating incident occurred in Forward Kahuta, Haveli district, where a Civil Defense Department employee, Muhammad Azeem, lost his life due to electrocution.
The incident happened when Azeem, a resident of Chirikot, came into contact with live electric wires while passing over the roof of a building.
The negligence of the Electricity Department has been blamed for the incident, with citizens and traders strongly protesting the lack of action.
The incident sparked widespread protests in the city, with traders and citizens blocking roads and demanding immediate action against the Electricity Department.
The protesters, including the President of the Traders Association, Waheed Chohan, and other leaders, condemned the negligence of the department and demanded an investigation.
They also threatened to hold a complete shutdown strike if action is not taken against the Electricity Department.
The body of the deceased was shifted to the hospital for a postmortem, and the protesters demanded an immediate investigation into the incident.
The Electricity Department has been urged to fix all lines in the city and properly replace hanging wires to prevent such incidents in the future.
This incident comes just two days after a child from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lost his life due to electrocution by high-voltage wires in Kahuta.
