MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Liaqat Hussain, has issued a notification cancelling several promotions and appointments made during the tenure of former Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja.
The chief justice has approved the cancellation of 26 notifications, dated from April 03, 2025, to June 04, 2025, in light of the decision taken by High Court judges during the meeting held on June 19.
As per details, these promotions were reportedly scrutinized for potentially being made against merit, with public speculation suggesting favoritism towards individuals related to the former Chief Justice.
Justice Sardar Liaqat Hussain took oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court on June 13, following the retirement of CJ Sadaqat Hussain.
