LEEPA VALLEY  (Kashmir English): Significant differences in broiler chicken prices have emerged in different areas of Azad Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, Hattian Bala, and Leepa Valley, which has raised serious concern among the public.

Despite the AJK government’s commitment to regulate chicken prices during the month of Ramadan, a major hike in prices was recorded in different areas of Azad Kashmir.

According to the official price list issued by the administration, broiler chicken is being sold at Rs 505 per kg in Muzaffarabad, Rs 520 per kg in Hattian Bala, and Rs 575 per kg in Leepa Valley.

Observing the major price difference, the residents of Leepa valley have raised questions about the performance of the government. They demanded that Deputy Commissioner Hattian Bala and Commissioner Muzaffarabad should take immediate notice of the matter and conduct an investigation into this negligence in price control.

Moreover, the residents stated that instead of providing relief to the people during Ramadan, a new storm of inflation has been created, which is causing great anger and resentment among the citizens.

If the prices are being artificially increased, strict action should be taken against those responsible so that relief can be provided to the public.
