DOHA (KASHMIR ENGLISH): The 13-hour dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan in Doha has been successfully concluded, as a result of which both countries agreed to an immediate ceasefire.
This development is being described as a major diplomatic and strategic achievement for Pakistan.
The State of Qatar hosted the talks, with the Republic of Turkey serving as the mediator.
According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the talks, both sides not only agreed on a ceasefire but also agreed on a permanent mechanism for bilateral peace and stability.
Official sources say that this agreement is the result of Pakistan’s position of strength, where the Pakistani forces gave a clear response on the ground, sending an effective message to the other side.

The talks that followed accepted Pakistan’s long-standing and clear demand, which demanded that Afghanistan end all forms of support and facilitation of terrorism.
Due to the sensitive nature, not all details of the talks were made public, which is a sign that the Afghan side was given an opportunity to save face.
Sources say that in reality, no demand was made by the Afghan side, while Pakistan’s position was fully accepted.
Under this agreement, terrorism from Afghanistan to Pakistani soil will be stopped immediately.

The two sides have also agreed that the talks will continue to ensure the implementation of the agreed points.
In this regard, the next follow-up meeting will be held in Istanbul on October 25, where delegations from both countries will discuss detailed issues.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry has described this development as an important step towards peace and stability in the region and has expressed hope that this agreement will lay the foundation for a permanent end to border tensions.
