ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has denied the reports related to the increase in fares for Islamabad metrobus feeder routes and electric buses.
The clarification came after a notification started circulating on social media claiming that the single journey fares for Orange line metrobus route, Blue line, Green line, and electric bus services have been hiked from previous Rs50 to Rs100, effective from May 26.
Following the development, a CDA spokesperson clarified that the fare hike was only a proposal under consideration. Denying the increase, the CDA official said that no final decision has been made at this time and termed the notification as false.
The metro and electric feeder bus services continue to operate at the existing fare of Rs 50, and authorities said they would keep the public informed regarding any future changes.
