CCD Punjab takes action against accused in Rs 30 Raiwind case

RAIWIND (Kashmir English): In a recent development, the Crimes Control Department (CCD) has guuned down two men arrested for allegedly torturing two brothers to death over a dispute of 30 rupees.

The attorney for the father of the victims, Ali Ahmed Awan,  informed that six suspects in the case were mentioned, of whom three, including the key suspect, had been taken into custody.

According to the police officials, two of the suspects, Owais and Shahzad, have died in a police encounter after their accomplices tried to attack the police.

“The CCD is still looking for the remaining suspects,” he added.

This whole thing started when two brothers went to a local fruit vendor to buy some fruit worth 130 Pakistani rupees, but somehow they got short on money and requested the vendor to waive off 30 rupees.

This ignited the fruit vendor, who then called his friends and other locals and started beating the two brothers brutally till they both lost their lives.

The nearby people kept filling the whole situation, and later posted it on social media, through which he incident quickly became the subject of social media, with thousands of users criticizing the fruit vendors and the nearby public who kept filming the whole incident without trying to stop or intervene.

The attackers were seen with clubs in their hands and beating the victims at a public location in Raiwind. While one of the brothers died due to serious torture marks at the incident location, the other died from injuries on last Sunday.

A first information report (FIR) on the victims’ father’s complaint was registered on August 22 at Raiwind City Police Station under Sections 147 (offence of rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), and 302 (punishment for murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
