PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): As the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has fallen, prominent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahid Khattak has also suddenly disappeared from the public eye.
Shahid Khattak, who tweeted to people to come out for protest, has gone into hiding.
Shahid Khattak, a leader who has ruled the province for years, has gone into hiding after his power ended, raising many questions.
Shahid Khattak is well aware that the law is going to tighten its grip on him in the coming days and he will have to answer for his actions. To avoid legal action and arrest, he, like other leaders, has resorted to hiding and tried to give the color of kidnapping.
Propaganda is being spread on PTI’s social media platforms that someone has taken Shahid Khattak, while he himself is hiding in a safe place of his own free will.
KP government spokesperson Shafi Jan disappears from public scene
Amid the political situation following the imposition of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI leader and government spokesperson Shafi Jan has also suddenly disappeared from the scene.
After losing the power he had enjoyed in the province for years, Shafi Jan chose to go into hiding rather than face the law. Like other senior party leaders, he is said to be aware that constitutional and legal proceedings against him could be approaching over his past decisions.
To avoid possible legal action and gain public sympathy, Shafi Jan resorted to a self-staged kidnapping narrative.
Before disappearing, reports of an alleged shooting incident in the area and a vehicle left abandoned along the roadside were circulated, creating the impression that he had become the target of an attack or a deep-rooted conspiracy.
According to political experts, such tactics are being used by PTI leaders to evade legal proceedings and portray themselves as victims of political persecution.
