ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has opted to leave Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 after a deal in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

ESPNcricinfo has reported that Muzarabani has informed Islamabad United, his team in PSL 2026, of his decision to withdraw.

Earlier today, the franchise confirmed the signing in a post on X as a replacement for Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming season of IPL.

In December 2025, KKR released  Mustafizur on the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Following his release, he was signed by Lahore Qalandars in the PSL, which starts from March 26.

Islamabad United signed Blessing Muzarabani days after he went unpicked at the PSL auction on February 11. He was United’s direct signing after West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph left the squad.

With the PSL and IPL running concurrently for the second year, this is the second successive time that a player initially signed by a PSL team has ended up at the IPL.

The 29-year-old recently impressed in the 2026 T20 World Cup, finishing with 13 wickets, which further strengthened his reputation as a reliable pace option in T20 cricket.
