BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Bhimber started a two-day financial literacy training for 500 women and set up payment centres under Pakistan’s Ramadan Relief Package to distribute Rs 5,000 to eligible families.

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has initiated a two-day digital financial literacy training for 500 deserving women at its district office in Bhimber. The training aims to equip beneficiaries with essential financial knowledge, enabling them to manage their aid effectively.

As part of Pakistan’s Ramadan Relief Package, the government has set up multiple payment distribution centres to disburse Rs 5,000 to eligible families. These centres have been established at the BISP district office in Bhimber, as well as tehsil offices in Barnala and Samahni.

According to Muhammad Ishtiaq, Deputy Director of BISP Bhimber and Focal Person for NSCR Mirpur Zone, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) only those families who receive a confirmation message from 9999, a call from an official BISP representative, or a home visit from an authorised representative (in case of an inactive phone number) will be eligible to receive the financial aid.

In addition to financial assistance, Benazir Nashonuma Centres have already been established at DHQ Hospital Bhimber and THQ Samahni to support pregnant women. These centres provide food supplements and additional financial aid ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500 to ensure maternal and child health.

Furthermore, under the Waseela-e-Taleem initiative, BISP is also offering education stipends for children. Various facilitation counters have been set up to ensure smooth and organised payment distribution, with separate seating arrangements for men and women at all centres.

Muhammad Ishtiaq encouraged beneficiaries to reach out to the BISP office in case of any issues or complaints regarding the distribution process. The government maintains its dedication to offering clear and efficient assistance to needy populations.

The government continues its dedication to assisting low-income families and improving maternal health and financial intelligence of underprivileged women throughout Bhimber and adjoining regions by implementing these new programs.
