ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was elected Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) while Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain became President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) in the intra-party elections on Saturday.
Similarly, Humayun Khan became Secretary General of the PPP and Nadeem Afzal Gondal (Chan) and Amina Paracha as Secretary Information and Secretary Finance respectively.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain was elected PML-Q Senior Vice President, Tariq Hassan General Secretary, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain President Punjab, Dr Muhammad Amjad Chief Organizer and Ghulam Mustafa Malik as Central Secretary Information. All the office-bearers were elected unopposed, according to respective parties.
PM congratulates on intra-party elections
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed best wishes for the newly-elected leadership of both the parties.
He congratulated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on getting elected as chairman of Pakistan People’s Party.
He expressed best wishes for the newly elected representatives of the party.
He said Pakistan People’s Party under the young leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will continue to play an important role in the country’s progress and development.
The PM also congratulated the newly-elected office-bearers of the PML-Q.
He said Muslim League-Q was an important ally of the government which sacrificed its politics in the last tenure of the government for Pakistan’s economic stability and progress.
He expressed hope that Muslim League-Q will continue to play its critical role as a party in the legislative assemblies for representing wishes of people and for the progress and development of the country.
