BHIMBER (Kashmir English): To safeguard the public, the Bhimber authorities have banned the installation of CNG cylinders in public transport.
According to the notification issued by the District Magistrate Mirza Arshad Mahmood Jaral, violators will face strict legal action, including arrest, and a heavy fine will also be imposed.
This development comes after a recent incident in which a fire broke out in a public transport passenger van that came from Punjab at the Jandi Chontra tourist spot due to the installation of CNG cylinders.
Fortunately, no passenger received any injuries, however, the incident caused an alarm for the Bhimber authorities, who then took swift action.
In this situation, the District Magistrate, taking action on public complaints, has imposed Section 144 to prevent CNG cylinders and has directed the Police Magistrates to implement the rules and the Information Department to conduct a thorough awareness campaign.
