ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) declared a bank holiday on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
“The SBP will remain closed for public dealings on Thursday, January 1, which will be observed as a bank holiday,” the notice issued on Tuesday stated.
In a notice, the central bank said all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs) will also remain closed for public dealings on the day.
However, the SBP clarified that employees of banks, DFIs, and MFBs will attend offices as usual.
