DHAKA (Kashmir English): The Bangladesh Government has extended visa restrictions for India over security concerns.

Bangladesh has announced the temporary closure of the visa sections of three more important diplomatic missions in India.

Confirming the decision, Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry said that the new restrictions have come into effect from Thursday.

Under the latest decision, all types of visas except business and employment visas have been suspended.

According to the Foreign Ministry, consular and visa services have been completely suspended at the Bangladeshi Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

All other visa services, including tourist visas, have also been suspended in Mumbai and Chennai.

According to the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry, visa services have been suspended at missions in India where security-related incidents have occurred, and this decision has been taken purely on security grounds.

Earlier on December 22, Bangladesh temporarily suspended visa and consular services at its High Commission in New Delhi, Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura, and Visa Centre in Siliguri.
