DHAKA (Kashmir English): Bangladesh has decided not to travel to India for the Men’s T20 World Cup, said Youth and Sports Adviser to the interim government, Asif Nazrul, on Thursday, a day after the International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected the request to move their matches from India to Sri Lanka.

He announced the decision after a meeting with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chairman, Aminul Islam Bulbul, and the men’s national team players in Dhaka.

While talking with the media, the Asif Nazrul said that the government cannot trust the ICC’s assurance that the security situation has improved significantly.

“There is no scope for the Bangladesh team to travel there to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup as the security situation in India has not changed,” he told reporters.

However, he added that the BCB’s efforts to shift the venue will continue, saying that BCB will contact the ICC again today on this issue.
