BAGH (Kashmir English): An e-tendering for 90 km of roads in the three constituencies, Central, Eastern, and Western, of Bagh district has been completed at a cost of Rs 2.36 billion.
The e-tendering process was held at the Xen Office High Department in Bagh, with prominent officials and contractors in attendance.
While talking to the media on the occasion, Xen Highways Zeeshan Butt emphasized that the e-tendering process ensures transparency and merit-based contract awards.
He said that all contractors are bound to complete the work within the stipulated period, with the works department monitoring progress and taking action against any subpar work.
Butt added that there will be no compromise on quality, and work orders for the 90 km of roads will be issued within a month.
He added that the tenders for existing roads will also be initiated soon, and the roads damaged due to landslides in the recent rains will also be repaired and restored soon.
Machinery and personnel are present on the closed roads. Currently, almost all the roads have been opened; however, repair work is underway, which will be completed soon.
Deputy Commissioner Bagh Raja Sadaqat, Director Highway Dept Poonch Division Habib Mughal, Xen Highway Zeeshan Butt, and Mayor Municipal Corporation Sardar Abdul Qayyum Baig were present.
