RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Weather Update: The weather in Azad Kashmir is expected to be rough today as thunderstorms are expected this morning, with scattered storms possible later.
As of 11:21 AM PKT on Thursday, May 29th, the weather is expected to reach a high of 86°F, which is around 30°C, during the day. Thunderstorms are likely in the morning, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.
There’s a 70 per cent chance of rain, and winds will be coming from the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Humidity is at 41 per cent, and the UV index is quite high at 9 out of 11, so sun protection is advisable. Sunrise was at 4:56 AM, and sunset is expected to be at 7:08 PM.
In the evening, temperatures will drop to around 64°F, which is about 18°C. The sky will be partly cloudy at first, but thunderstorms are likely overnight, with an 80 per cent chance of rain.
Winds will shift to the north-northeast at 5 to 10 mph, and humidity will rise to 56 per cent. The moon will rise at 6:36 AM and set at 9:58 PM, appearing as a waxing crescent.
The waxing crescent is the moon phase that comes right after the New Moon, before reaching the First Quarter. During this phase, you’ll see just a thin, curved sliver of the moon lit up, getting slightly bigger each night.
If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, the lit part appears on the right side, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s on the left. This phase lasts around a week, slowly leading up to the First Quarter moon.
The first Pacific depression of the season has formed, which could be worth keeping an eye on for further updates. However, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Pakistan are unlikely to be affected by it.
