MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir weather update for Thursday, March 13, 2025. Azad Kashmir’s weather today is overall cloudy, rainy and hazy.

The Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rain and snowfall until March 2, prompting authorities to warn residents and tourists about travel disruptions and extreme cold.

According to the Meteorological Department Pakistan weather alert, the powerful westerly weather system was to bombard upper regions with heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, strong gales, and snow accumulation.

Now once again a brief spell of rain has started, anticipated to spread over a few coming days.

Previously, the weather in AJK was bright and sunny.

Azad Kashmir weather:

Today, Azad Kashmir is to experience variable clouds with showers and scattered thunderstorms. A high of 61F with WSW winds at 5 to 10 mph can be observed. The chance of rain is 80 per cent. As for the night, partly cloudy skies can be expected. A low of 48F with light and variable winds can also be anticipated.

As of current, it is partly cloudy in Azad Kashmir. The precipitation is at 0 per cent, the humidity is at 69 per cent and the wind blows at 3mph.

Muzaffarabad:

Today the capital weather is partly cloudy. Thunderstorms are likely this morning. Later a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. The weather is hazy. A high of 68F with light and variable winds can be observed. The chance of rain is at 80 per cent. As for the night, slightly cloudy skies with a low of 50F and light and variable winds can be expected.

As of current, it is partly cloudy in Muzaffarabad. The chances of precipitation are at 0 per cent, humidity is at 55 per cent. And the wind blows at 3mph.

Neelum Valley:

The weather in Neelum Valley is lightly rainy with snow showers or flurries. A high of around 40F with light and variable winds with a 70 per cent chance of snow. Snow this evening will taper off as a few snow showers late. A low of around 25F with winds that will be light and variable can be expected. The chance of snow is at 80 per cent. Snow accumulations of less than one inch are expected.

Rawalakot:

The weather in Rawalakot is cloudy and rainy. Thunderstorms are likely today. A high of 58F with light and variable winds and a 90 per cent chance of rain is observed. As for the night, some clouds can be expected. A low of 43F with light and variable winds can also be expected.

Kotli:

Thunderstorms are likely this morning. Then a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon persists. The weather in Kotli is hazy. A high of 72F with W winds at 5 to 10 mph can be expected. The chance of rain is at 90 per cent. As for the night, mostly clear skies early followed by cloudy skies overnight can be expected. A hazy weather can be expected. A low of 54F with NE winds at 5 to 10 mph can be anticipated.

Bagh:

Thunderstorms are likely in Bagh. A high of 58F with light and variable winds can be observed. The chance of rain is at 90 per cent. Some clouds are expected for the night. A low 43F with light and variable winds can also be expected.

 

AJK will experience rainy and hazy conditions with varying cool temperatures. Residents are advised to dress warmly, especially in higher-altitude areas, and carry umbrellas in regions expecting showers. Travellers to Neelum Valley and other high-altitude areas should remain cautious of road closures or landslides in case of snow showers or rain. Tourists are encouraged to stay safe and plan their activities accordingly.
