AUTHMUQAM (Kashmir English): The Assistant Commissioner/Chairman Price Control Committee, Authmuqam has officially issued new sewing rates under the Price Control and Profiteering Act, 1977 ahead of Eid-u-Fitr.
The administration has strictly instructed all tailors and shopkeepers to adhere to the fixed prices, otherwise, legal action will be taken against them.
According to the notification issued, the sewing of a simple men’s suit has been fixed at Rs 1000 while the sewing of a small men’s simple suit has been fixed at Rs 600.
Similarly, the sewing of a simple women’s suit has been fixed at Rs 1000 while the sewing of a women’s suit (home yellow) has been fixed at Rs 800.
The administration has warned that if any shopkeeper or tailor charges more than the fixed price, strict action will be taken against him.
The public has also been requested to pay as per the rate list and immediately file a complaint of any kind of excessive price collection with the Price Control Committee or the district administration.
Officials say that strict monitoring is being carried out to ensure implementation of the fixed prices and strict legal action will be taken against violators.
