CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): Apple’s upcoming iPhone software update, iOS 18.5, isn’t jam-packed with significant changes, but there are still a few noteworthy tweaks that will make the iPhone experience more luxurious.

Date of Release for iOS 18.5
It is anticipated that iOS 18.5 will be made available to the general public during the third week of May 2025, based on Apple’s upgrade schedule. The recent history of comparable mid-cycle modifications is as follows:
- iOS 17.5 – May 13, 2024
- iOS 16.5 – May 18, 2023
- iOS 15.5 – May 16, 2022
This trend suggests that a release date of May 13–20 is likely. Although the primary focus of this minor update is bug repairs and performance enhancements, a few features jump out to the users.
Contact photographs may now be turned off right within the Mail app. Just turn off “Show Contact Photos” by tapping the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
The “All Mail” view is now prominently displayed as a fifth tab, next to Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions, rather than concealed behind a swipe.
With AppleCare information now more clearly visible in the Settings app, warranty and support information are simpler to locate.
Like iOS 18.5, iOS 18.6 is probably going to be a small update when it goes into beta testing in May. iOS 19, which will be revealed at WWDC 2025 on June 9, is where the real excitement starts. Soon after the event, the first developer beta will be released.
