CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): The iPhone 17e will be unveiled by Apple during the time period of mid-February, according to recent leaks that emerged from case and accessory manufacturers.
According to Macworld, Thursday, February 19, could be a potential release date for the new phones. Apple releases its products on Monday or Tuesday because these days serve as the exact first anniversary of the iPhone 16e launch.
According to analysts, Apple will present the new iPhone through a press release instead of holding a major launch event. The anticipation exists because Apple recently presented a new AirTag, and there are rumors about an early February launch of M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pros.
Two major changes to the iPhone 17e include MagSafe and two other features. Industry insiders confirm the device will support 25W wireless charging, which will solve the iPhone 16e’s main issue by offering faster charging than the 7.5W Qi standard.
The device will maintain its standard appearance in all visual aspects. The phone will reportedly retain the classic “notch,” and a single rear camera lens, with the Dynamic Island feature likely reserved for future generations or higher-end models.
Apple will use its next-generation C1 modem as the internal component for the iPhone 17e. Apple is expected to introduce a U-series ultra-wideband chip (U1 or U2) after the recent AirTag update, which will enable Precision Finding, a feature that was missing from last year’s budget model.
Apple has decided to implement a smartphone release schedule that includes two product launches each year. Entry-level “e” models will be released in spring, while flagship devices will launch in the fall. Long-term rumors suggest this strategy may grow further with the standard iPhone 18 moving to a spring launch slot that will occur alongside the 18e by 2027.
