PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): In view of recent aerial operations and escalating tensions on the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan has further strengthened defence system in the border districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Under the latest defence measures, advanced anti-drone systems have been activated at border locations to effectively prevent any potential aerial intrusion or mischief carried out by surveillance drones from across the border.
According to security sources, these systems are fully capable of timely identifying, jamming, or shooting down the movement of any suspicious drone.
This step has been taken particularly to ensure the protection of sensitive locations and security forces’ checkpoints, as concerns about the use of technical means from across the border have been raised in recent days.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s merged districts
Security has been put on high alert across the province, and patrolling by security forces has been increased, especially in the merged districts (former FATA).
Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel have been instructed to respond immediately and decisively to any suspicious activity or provocation from across the border.
Officials stated that these defence measures are essential for maintaining the sanctity of the country’s airspace and protecting citizens.
The public is also advised to cooperate with security agencies in any emergency situation and to immediately report any unusual activity to the nearest centre.
