ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prominent Afghan journalist Sami Yousafzai has raised concerns over Afghanistan’s current direction, warning of another crisis under the leadership of Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada.

In a post on social media site X, Yousafzai questioned whether Afghanistan is being pushed into another deep crisis under Mullah Haibatullah after Mullah Omar.

“After mullah Omar, now mullah Haibatullah turns to push Afghanistan into a deep crisis?” he wrote on X.

He stated that Afghanistan has repeatedly suffered from the consequences of misguided decisions and unnecessary wars.

“History has shown that when leaders choose conflict over wisdom, it is always the innocent people who pay the price, through loss, poverty, and endless grief,” Yousafzai said.

The Afghan journalist highlighted that a true leader should prioritize peace, dignity, and stability rather than bringing war closer to their people.

He noted that war is not a sign of strength or political skill, but instead is a failure that leaves behind only pain and tears. “Afghan people deserve better. They deserve peace,” he concluded.
