RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Tuesday distributed laptops to 446 male and female students of the University of Poonch Rawalakot under the Prime Minister Youth Scheme.
While speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said that the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme is a reflection of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Digital Pakistan vision.
The Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs said that if the youth get timely opportunities, they can make the name of the country and the nation shine. The laptop scheme is completely merit-based with no scope for recommendation.
“This scheme was started in 2011. The current government has reactivated it,” Muqam said.
The decisions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Prime Minister have strengthened the atmosphere of trust in the country.
Earlier, the Federal Minister was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the university.
Engineer Muqam said that the establishment of a Daanish University is being considered in Azad Kashmir. “Providing world-class education is our motto,” he said.
“Five Daanish schools are being established in Azad Kashmir. The PML-N government has launched a health card facility in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and ensured the provision of quality treatment to every family,” he added.
Muqam further said that equipping the youth with modern education and skills is the government’s priority. He added that after the struggle for justice, the world is recognizing the importance of the Kashmir issue.
“The government of Pakistan is firm on its stand for the Kashmiris. Indian atrocities are continuing in occupied Kashmir. The sacrifices of the Kashmiri people are immortal, whose struggle I salute,” he stated.
Amir Muqam further stated that the Prime Minister is bravely highlighting the Kashmir issue all over the world, and Mian Nawaz Sharif also did a lot for Kashmir.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam said that Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people’s struggle for a solution to the Kashmir issue until the last drop of blood and will continue to raise its voice for the rights of Kashmiris at the global level.
