All entry & exit points of Poonch closed, residents face traffic disruption

RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): In a recent development, the higher authorities have completely closed all the entering and exit points of Poonch district, Rawalakot due to security reasons.

The roads closure has resulted in severe traffic disruption causing difficulties for the residents. According to the details, all the important entering and exiting routes of Poonch district have been closed at various places.

Closed Roads in Poonch

Several major roads across Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been temporarily closed, causing significant disruption to travel and transport in the region.

  • Tatta Pani to Hajira Road has been completely shut off, along with other connecting routes including Bokra Bal Bazaar Mandhole and Dara Sher Khan–Battal Road to Sahar Madarpur Cross.

  • The Abbaspur to Hajira Road is fully blocked at College Chowk Hajira, halting all vehicular movement on this key route.

  • Both access roads from Tararkhal to Rawalakot are currently impassable. One is blocked near the MP Check Post Akhorban High School, while the other has been closed at Banjosa Khai Gul Chowk.

  • The main inter-district route connecting Rawalpindi, Rawalakot, and Bagh is also closed off from T-Chowk Thala, affecting long-distance travel between these major areas.

  • In addition, both routes from Rawalakot to Rawalpindi have been sealed—one near T-Dhalkot Mujahidabad, and the other at Ghazi Millat Afsar Market.

Due to the closure of all entry points, all traffic has been suspended and citizens are facing severe difficulties in daily matters, including the delivery of essential goods.

Authorities are advising the public to avoid travel in these areas until further notice. Travellers are urged to remain informed through official channels for updates on road clearance and alternative routes.
