Pakistan Army hosts All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament in Mirpur

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament will begin today, April 23, and run until April 25 at the Government Boys Postgraduate College Mirpur, under the supervision of the Pakistan Army.

The opening ceremony took place at 8:30 AM, with Rashid Hanif Qureshi, Secretary of Sports, Youth and Culture, attending as the chief guest.

Teams from all ten districts of Azad Kashmir are participating in the All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament. The final match will be held on April 25, 2025, with the GOC of the 23rd Division gracing the event as the chief guest.

All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament champion will receive a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 along with a trophy, while the runner-up team will be awarded Rs50,000.

A spokesperson for the Sports Department has urged volleyball fans from across Azad Kashmir to attend in large numbers to ensure the tournament’s success.

The Sports Department spokesperson invited all Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK)  fans to actively support their teams by cheering at the tournament through a widespread open invitation.

The main goal is to bring energy to fans through passionate displays from home supporters who will both energize spectator attendance and create a charged environment at the event.

Organizing All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament involves opportunities beyond demonstrating the regional volleyball skills. Through the tournament players will develop new friendships and establish team connections which leads to a strong community bond among athletes who might otherwise only meet at the competition.

All-Azad Kashmir Volleyball Tournament will serve as a crucial platform for boosting volleyball’s exposure and helping develop teamwork skills while showcasing promising athletic abilities of future talent from various levels.
