MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The newly formed eighteen-member cabinet of Azad Jammu and Kashmir formally took oath of office here on Wednesday.
In the oath-taking ceremony, Acting President of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Latif Akbar administered the oath to the cabinet members and directed them to assume the responsibilities of their posts.
Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore was also present at the ceremony, who congratulated the cabinet members and emphasized the importance of their posts.
Former Prime Ministers Sardar Haji Yaqoob Khan and Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, top political leadership, civil bureaucracy, and local command were also present at the oath-taking ceremony, which shows the importance of the ceremony and the dignity of the democratic process.
Earlier, Secretary Services and General Admin Zafar Mahmood read out the notification of the cabinet appointment to the audience, after which each member took the oath of office. On this occasion, the cabinet members assured to maintain the trust of the people and take forward the development works under the constitutional and legal responsibilities.
This oath-taking ceremony was not only the completion of the legal and constitutional process, but the participation of top political and civil leadership in it made it very prestigious. Those present at the ceremony prayed for the success of the cabinet members in their new positions.
