MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has approved a significant increase in the monthly stipend for medical officers doing house jobs in hospitals under the Public Health Department.
As per the notification, the stipend has been raised from Rs 43,500 to Rs 67,605 per month, following the Public Health Department of Punjab pattern.
The new stipend amount is equivalent to 150% of the basic salary of a Medical Officer in BPS-17.
The notification added that the Public Health Department will bear the expenses incurred due to this increase from its approved budget.
This decision aims to support medical officers in their critical roles and enhance the healthcare system in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
