ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has reaffirmed that all available resources and energies would be utilized for the promotion of higher education in Azad Kashmir.
He said this while chairing the 23rd Senate meeting of the University of Kotli at the presidency.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor University of Kotli Professor Dr. Zakaria Zakir, Secretary Presidential Affairs Dr. Muhammad Idrees Abbasi, Former Judge Supreme Court Justice Younis Tahir, Former Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi Professor Dr. Saima Hameed, Former Secretary Manzoor Hussain Chaudhry, Chaudhry Muhammad Mehboob Advocate, Muhammad Hanif Advocate, Secretary Higher Education Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab, Representative Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Tariq Iqbal and other Senate members.
Briefing to the President
On this occasion, VC University of Kotli, Prof. Dr. Zakaria Zakir, gave a detailed briefing to the President on curricular and co-curricular activities at the university.
Speaking on the occasion the President who is also the Chancellor of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Universities, directed the VC to gear up efforts to streamline the affairs at the university.
He reaffirmed that all available resources and energies would be utilized for the promotion of higher education in Azad Kashmir.”
I wish to see Jamia Kotli in the list of world’s top universities”, the president said, adding that concerted efforts were required to improve quality of education and complete the ongoing development projects of the university at the earliest.
