ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has acknowledged Azerbaijan’s loyal support to Pakistan regarding Kashmir.
According to a statement issued by the AJK Presidential Secretariat in Islamabad, the President emphasized Azerbaijan’s support for Pakistan on the Kashmir dispute with India.
He underlined how important international backing is in finding a solution to the long-running conflict.
Barrister Sultan also said that India tried to carry out a false flag operation in Pahalgam to put the blame on Pakistan, but the attempt failed. “The Pakistan Army gave a strong reply to India’s actions,” he said.
He further explained that the Kashmir conflict began in 1947, pointing out that Kashmir was a Muslim-majority region which India occupied by force.
According to him, the issue has remained unresolved and continues to be the main source of tension between Pakistan and India. He pointed out that the disagreement could seriously harm the effort for peace in South Asia.
As he concluded his statements, Barrister Chaudhry acknowledged the part Azerbaijan played during the recent Pakistan-India crisis.
He also recognized the efforts made by countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia to help alleviate the situation.
