JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In continuation of the ongoing campaign against drug peddlers on the special instructions of SP Jhelum Valley Syed Abbas Ali Shah, the City Police Jhelum Valley Police Station carried out another successful operation.
During the operation, SHO Manzar Hussain Chughtai along with his team conducted a forceful operation against drug peddlers and made several arrests.
SHO Manzar Hussain Chughtai along with ASI Zafar Officer, ASI Daniyal Kiani, IHC Kanwal Hussain and DFC Syed Ahsan Shah arrested well-known drug peddlers Ziarif Khan resident of Khanda Bela and Adnan Abbasi resident of Lamian.
According to the police, hashish and kidney were recovered from the possession of both the accused. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation has been initiated.
According to police sources, more important revelations are expected from the arrested accused which will be helpful in reaching the details of the drug network.
According to the police, operations have been intensified to eradicate drugs in the area so that the young generation can be protected from this scourge.
In this regard, last night, SHO Manzar Hussain Chughtai, during another successful operation, arrested Adnan son of Gulzar Qaum Abbasi, resident of Lamian Tehsil Hattian Bala, at Kadli Pul area along with 210 grams of hashish. The police have registered a case against the accused under CNSA 9-B and started further investigation.
Public and social circles appreciated these operations of the police and said that this continuation of the eradication of drugs is welcome. Citizens expressed hope that these efforts of the police will play an important role in making the area drug-free.
