AJK PM reviews preparations for upcoming Kashmir Premier League edition

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, was held to review preparations for the third season of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

According to the statement, the meeting discussed in detail the preparations for the league, future plans, and various aspects of cricket operations.

The meeting was attended by KPL Chief Executive Officer Chaudhry Shahzad Akhtar, General Manager Operations Malik Khurram Shahzad Awan, and PCB Level-II Qualified Manager Cricket Operations Tanveer Ahmed Mughal.

Officials briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of arrangements, new initiatives, and the proposed season timeline.

During the meeting, various suggestions were presented to modernize the player development, team structure, draft system, match operations, umpiring, scoring, and broadcast systems. The premier was informed that a comprehensive framework is being prepared to make the upcoming season better than the previous seasons.

The participants reviewed special measures to make the operational system of KPL more effective, provide more opportunities to young talent, and promote cricket within the state. The meeting agreed to expedite preparations for the third season, the statement reads.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, while describing KPL as the state’s leading sports brand, said that this platform is very effective in highlighting the talents of the youth, and the government will continue to fully support the league.

He directed the administration to ensure the best quality in preparations and management. He expressed the hope that the third season of KPL will be more successful, stronger, and more spectacular than the previous two seasons, and will provide more opportunities for the youth of the state to progress in the field of cricket.
