MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has warmly welcomed the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US President Donald Trump.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump hosted PM Shehbaz Sharif for talks at the White House, where both discussed regional security and cooperation along the lines of counter-terrorism, among other matters.

“The Prime Minister extended a warm and cordial invitation to President Trump to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, at his convenience,” according to the statement from the PM office.

In his statement, the AJK premier said that the meeting has significantly enhanced the country’s prestige globally. “The meeting has boosted Pakistan’s reputation on the international stage.”

The presence of COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir during the meeting underscores the Pakistan Army’s global significance.

The encounter between Trump and Sharif reflects a strategic elevation in Pakistan-US relations, Haq stated. “The encounter has further strengthened the historical bond between Pakistan and the US.”

Trump’s emphasis on Pakistan’s importance in meetings with Muslim leaders is seen as a diplomatic triumph, the prime minister said, adding that the meeting will pave the way for peace in the Middle East.

The meeting has dealt a blow to India’s global influence, including in South Asia, he maintained.

Anwarul Haq added that the meeting will bring attention to the Kashmir issue, with the Kashmiri people welcoming the rise in Pakistan’s global prestige.
