RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Saturday arrived in Rawalakot on a visit to Poonch district, where he was accorded a grand welcome by party workers and local leadership.
A ceremony was held at the Circuit House in Rawalakot, where the prime minister was present on the stage along with senior political leaders.
Former President and Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, and other central leaders attended the event.
During his visit to Poonch, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore traveled to Banguai to offer Fateha at the shrine of late Sardar Sagheer Chughtai, a former member of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The prime minister laid a wreath at the shrine and offered special prayers for the elevation of the departed soul.
Paying tribute, the prime minister said that Sardar Sagheer Chughtai always promoted the politics of service, adding that his political and social contributions would be remembered forever.
Former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Minister for Public Works Zia Al-Qamar, and Advisor on Sports, Youth, and Culture Sardar Ahmed Sagheer were also present with the prime minister during the visit.
