MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq on Thursday directed the electricity department to immediately repair electricity transmission lines, permanently resolve low-voltage issues, and upgrade outdated feeders and transformers across the state on a priority basis.
He made these directives while chairing a high-level meeting in Muzaffarabad, attended by Most Senior Minister Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister for Education and Schools Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai, Minister for Public Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Minister for Health Nisar Ansar Abdali, Principal Secretary Zafar Mahmood Khan, and Secretary Electricity Irshad Qureshi.
During the meeting, Secretary Electricity Irshad Qureshi gave a detailed briefing on the current status of transmission lines, feeder upgrades, transformer repairs, and grid station development, as well as the technical and financial challenges being faced by the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that restoring electricity in remote and backward areas, installing new transformers, and enhancing grid station capacity are among the top priorities of the government.
“Our goal is to ensure uninterrupted power supply and to modernize the power infrastructure for public relief,” the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Anwarul Haq directed the Department of Electricity to identify all necessary improvement areas and take immediate action using available resources effectively.
He stressed that the government is committed to strengthening the trust between the people and the administration and that visible relief for citizens must be ensured through better planning and execution.
